Popular American music star D4vd has been arrested in Los Angeles on suspicion of murder, according to police.

The 21-year-old artist, whose real name is David Burke, was taken into custody by officers from the Los Angeles Police Department on Thursday evening and booked at the 77th Street Station jail. Authorities confirmed he is being held without bail.

Police said detectives from a specialist homicide unit arrested the singer at his Hollywood Hills residence following an ongoing investigation into the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas.

Officials have not released full details of the case, but confirmed that prosecutors from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office are reviewing the evidence to determine whether formal charges will be filed.

In a statement, d4vd’s legal team strongly denied the allegations. “The actual evidence in this case will show that David Burke did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez and he was not the cause of her death,” his attorneys said, adding that no indictment or formal criminal complaint has yet been issued. They also said they intend to “vigorously defend” his innocence.

The investigation relates to an incident in September 2025, when authorities discovered the body of the teenage victim inside a vehicle linked to the suspect after it had been impounded. Police have not disclosed a possible motive.

The case remains under active investigation, with authorities expected to decide in the coming days whether to proceed with charges.
