The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has formally received Prince Adewole Ebenezer Adebayo as the presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for the 2027 general election.
The party officially submitted Adebayoâs name as its flagbearer in a letter signed by its National Secretary, Olu Agunloye.
The submission follows the successful conduct of the SDPâs National Convention held in Bauchi on May 9, 2026.
According to the party, Adebayo emerged as the presidential candidate at the âpeacefulâ national convention.
âThe presidential candidate nominated by the Social Democratic Party for sponsorship in the 2027 presidential election is Prince Adewole Ebenezer Adebayo,â the letter to INEC stated.
The SDP also requested INEC to provide the necessary nomination forms â including Forms EC9, EC9A, EC9B, EC9C, EC9D, and EC9E â to complete the candidate nomination process.
