2027: NDC closes sale of presidential form
The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced the end of the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for aspirants seeking to contest for the Office of the President on the platform of the party ahead of the 2027 general election.
The party, however, extended the deadline for the collection of Expression of Interest Forms for other categories of offices.
These are State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, and Governorship positions.
The extension is from May 17 to May 24, 2026.
This was contained in a statement signed by the National Secretary of the party, Ikenna Enekweizu, and issued on Monday.
According to the statement, screening of aspirants who have purchased and completed the Expression of Interest Forms will begin on Tuesday and end on May 26.
The party added that the collection and return of Nomination Forms for all screened and cleared aspirants would begin on Wednesday, and close on May 26.
The NDC stressed that no further extension would be granted beyond the stipulated deadline, urging aspirants to comply strictly with the guidelines and timelines.
It directed all aspirants to appear for screening and pre-qualification interviews at designated venues across the country with relevant documents, including educational certificates, birth certificate or declaration of age, passport photographs, voter’s identification card, NDC membership card, and curriculum vitae.
The party also stated that all submitted documents must be provided in six copies.
The statement explained that screening would be based on the wishes of the electorate, local peculiarities, capacity, and competence of aspirants, as well as character.
It further noted that the Screening Committee would take into consideration the party’s affirmative action policy for women, youths, and persons living with disabilities.
The NDC encouraged aspirants to embrace consensus-building, noting that only cleared aspirants would be eligible to purchase Nomination Forms.
