âMost young actors now chase fame, not craftâ â Veteran actor Ejike Asiegbu speaks on Nollywoodâs new generation
Veteran actor Ejike Asiegbu has expressed concern over what he described as a growing obsession with fame among many young actors in Nollywood.
.....
Speaking on the Radio podcast, the 66-year-old actor said many younger actors appear more focused on stardom than improving their craft or telling meaningful stories.
According to him, some now carry an “I have arrived” mentality, adding that many expect older actors to greet them first because they already see themselves as stars.
The veteran filmmaker also alleged that many young actors do not properly prepare for roles, claiming some only read scripts after arriving on set.
