The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced Alhaji Muhammad Bello Dalhat as its governorship candidate for Kano State, after he defeated fellow aspirant Alhaji Muhammad Sani Abacha son of former Head of State Sani Abacha in the party’s primary election.
The result was declared by Hon. Umar Danjani Hadejia, who chaired the election committee appointed by the PDP’s national leadership. Dalhat secured 2,233 votes to clinch the ticket, while Abacha garnered 749 votes.
In announcing the outcome, the committee chairman confirmed that Dalhat had scored the highest number of votes and was therefore declared the party’s governorship flag bearer for Kano State.
The primary takes place as political parties across the country step up their preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
