The Head, Association of Urhobo Mayoral Family Crown, AUMFC who is also the Mayor of Urhoboland, Dr. Eshanekpe Agimor Israel, popularly known as Akpodoro has thrown his weight behind the security and protection contract of the Western axis of Tantita Security Services Nig LTD, TSSNL, noting that the firm has performed its services of protecting petroleum infrastructure for the country with clinical efficiency over time.

Eshanekpe added that only a patriotic and competent firm could effectively achieve the progress already recorded since the FG awarded contract to the firm.

The ex-militant leader, who stated this at a well-attended Niger Delta stakeholders’ brainstorming session in Abuja, the nation’s capital over the weekend, added, “Recently in a manner that exudes national loyalty and operational aptitude, the TSSNL operatives of Amatu Unit intercepted a vessel conveying illegal crude oil along the waterways between River Dodo and River Ramos in the early hours of Monday, May 18, 2026.”

“The vessel, identified as Augustina, was reportedly intercepted while sailing from the Pennington River axis with suspected illegally refined crude oil onboard sailing to an unknown destination for offload.

According to the Mayor, who commended the vigilant and intelligent driven operations of TSSNL, “The operation was carried out following a top-notch intelligence and sustained surveillance of activities within the creeks and waterways notorious for crude oil theft and illegal bunkering.”

Mayor Akpodoro noted “the successful interception underscores the commitment of the security outfit in the ongoing fight against oil theft, pipeline vandalism, and economic sabotage in the Niger Delta region.”

“This and other notable progress in the fight against oil theft in the TSSNL operational areas owned and managed by High Chief Government Ekpemukpolo popularly known as Tompolo,” the Mayor stressed, “Speaks volume of the concerted efforts of the firm to justify its stronghold on its operational corridors,” a development he noted, “Ordinarily doesn’t go down with those he described as naysayers and foot soldiers of oil thieves,” who he accused of sponsoring attacks on the management and staff of the security company.

Akpodoro called on the Federal Government, to widen the security operations areas in the Waterways to accommodate other stakeholders in the region rather than splitting the already existing TSSNL contract, saying, “The government should beam searchlight more on other contractors,” who he said, “Are neither here nor there in terms productivity.”

“TSSNL is not the only contractor manning the waterways, the government should scrutinise those other contractors who are hardly heard in the security and protection of petroleum infrastructure.

“More stakeholders should be brought in for the security of those areas that are already endangering success in the war against oil theft.

“Leave TSSNL contract alone, bring in other genuinely interested stakeholders and open up other areas for them to collaboratively function with TSSNL,” the Mayor stated, concluding, “Inclusiveness is germaine to success.”
