Eid-el-Kabir: Ododo, Bello seek prayers for Tinubu

The Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Ododo, and his predecessor, Yahaya Bello, have called for prayers as well as cooperation with President Bola Tinubu for the Renewed Hope Agenda to succeed.

In separate interviews with newsmen shortly after the Eid-el-Kabir prayers at Okene Central praying ground, in Kogi State, the two leaders called for prayers for Tinubu and other leaders..

The governor said, “Eid-el-Kabir teaches sacrifice, love, peace and care, I urge my people, the good people of Kogi State to support the needy, pray for our nation. Let us pray for Mr President and all our leaders for wisdom and divine guidance.

“Security is a continuous task and I want to assure you that we will not relent I commend Mr President, security agencies and the good people of Kogi State for their support and credible intelligence that they are providing at all times and by the special grace of God we continue to work together to keep Kogi safe and secure.”

On the efforts to rebrand the state, Ododo said it was the responsibility of everyone in the state to project the image of the state in a positive way.

“There is no magic, you are addressed how we want to be addressed, the image of our state depends on what we say about our state .

“As you know, Kogi State is blessed with potential, enormous potential in agriculture, in minerals, culture and tourism So a state that has this, we need to project it and let me tell you we are determined to showcase our strength and create an image that will attract development and investors will be coming because Kogi State is safe and that is what we are doing,” he stated.

Bello also preached cooperation with Tinubu who has been championing the renewed hope agenda.

He said, “We must all come together to give Me president needed for the renewed hope agenda to succeed. A great nation is achieved not just in a twinkle of an eye, it is a marathon and it takes a courageous leader to engage and embark on that marathon.

“Mr President is renewing our hope Secondly, the message and the promise of continuity and consolidation, championed by my Governor, we are seeing that today vividly across the state We must continue to pray for him, cooperate with him and ensure that we give him all the enabling environment for him to deliver and he will he will deliver.”

Eid-el-Kabir, also known as Eid al-Adha, is one of the most important festivals in Islam.

It commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah’s command.

The celebration is marked by special prayers, the slaughtering of livestock such as rams, cows, or goats, and the sharing of meat with family members, neighbours and the less privileged as symbols of faith, sacrifice and charity.
