Federal Government Girls College,Ilorin Awards Over ₦56.1 Million Contracts to Unqualified Company

Federal Government Girls College, Ilorin, has violated the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria following the award of contracts worth ₦56,122,215.90 to Mimwanun Commercial Enterprises, a company that had been in existence for less than two years at the time the transactions were made.

Records obtained by this media organization show that Mimwanun Commercial Enterprises received several payments from the college in 2025 for the supply of various food items and meal subsidies.

Investigation revealed that on 09 June 2025, Federal Government Girls College, Ilorin, paid Mimwanun Commercial Enterprises the sum of ₦12,989,390.00 for the March 2025 meal subsidy and the purchase of various food items. The transaction was processed under Payment No. 1001292704-6, with Payer Code 0517026062.

Also, on 15 September 2025, Federal Government Girls College, Ilorin, paid Mimwanun Commercial Enterprises ₦15,182,875.30 for the June 2025 meal subsidy and the supply of various food items to the college, including semovita, rice, yam, gas, maize, garri and beans. The transaction was processed under Payment No. 1001322648-7, with Payer Code 0517026062.


Additionally, on 14 October 2025, Federal Government Girls College, Ilorin, paid Mimwanun Commercial Enterprises the sum of ₦13,895,075.30 for the July 2025 meal subsidy and the purchase of food items for the college, including rice, garri, maize, turkey, palm oil, spaghetti and Indomie noodles. The transaction was processed under Payment No. 1001337817-6, with Payer Code 0517026062.

Furthermore, on 24 December 2025, Federal Government Girls College, Ilorin, paid Mimwanun Commercial Enterprises ₦14,054,875.30 for the September 2025 meal subsidy and the purchase of sugar, garri, macaroni, beans, rice, turkey and gas. The transaction was processed under Payment No. 1001364578-7, with Payer Code 0517026062.

Corporate records show that Mimwanun Commercial Enterprises was registered on 12 January 2023. This timeline is significant because it indicates that the company had existed for only about two years before receiving contracts and payments worth over ₦56,122,215.90 from FGGC, Ilorin.

Under the Public Procurement Act 2007, companies seeking Federal Government contracts are required to provide evidence of tax payments for the preceding three years, alongside audited financial statements covering the same period. These provisions are intended to ensure that public funds are awarded to entities with verifiable operational history, technical capacity and financial credibility.
