How much prize money will Arsenal earn for winning Premier League title?
Arsenal are set to receive a record financial reward after clinching the 2025/26 Premier League title, ending a 22-year wait to become champions of England once again.
Mikel Arteta’s men sealed the title with a game to spare after Manchester City dropped points earlier this week, sparking huge celebrations among players and supporters across north London. The celebrations reportedly continued deep into the night, with some Arsenal players seen leaving the Emirates Stadium around 5am following wild title-winning festivities.
Beyond the historic achievement, the Premier League triumph is also expected to hand Arsenal their biggest ever payment from the league.
According to Evening Standard, the Premier League distributes central payments to clubs based on their final league position through a merit-based system. The higher a team finishes, the greater the financial reward it receives.
The Premier League explained that the champions earn 20 times the basic merit payment, while the runners-up receive 19 times the amount, with payments decreasing down to the team that finishes 20th.
Last season, each league position was reportedly worth around ÂŁ2.6 million. Liverpool, who finished as champions, received approximately ÂŁ53.1 million in merit payments alone, while Southampton, who ended bottom of the table, earned about ÂŁ2.6 million.
With Arsenal now crowned champions, the Gunners are expected to receive a similar figure, making it the largest Premier League prize cheque in the club’s history. The earnings add to the huge commercial and broadcasting revenues already generated through the club’s successful campaign.
The title victory marks a major milestone for Arteta, who has rebuilt Arsenal into one of Europe’s strongest sides after several years of near misses. The Gunners had finished second in each of the previous three Premier League seasons before finally reclaiming the trophy for the first time since the famous “Invincibles” campaign in 2003/04.
Arsenal will round off their title-winning season on Sunday when they face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. Palace are expected to give the new champions a guard of honour before kick-off, while captain Martin Odegaard will lift the Premier League trophy after the match.
