JAMB: Prof Aina’s appointment is reflection of Tinubu’s governance commitment — Oluwo
The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has described the appointment of Prof. Segun Aina as the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) as a reflection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to engaging capable young Nigerians in governance.
Oba Akanbi also commended President Tinubu for appointing Prof. Aina as the JAMB Registrar.
In a statement released through his Press Secretary, Alli Ibraheem, on Saturday, the traditional ruler stated that the commendation became necessary considering what he described as the intimidating profile and career accomplishments of Prof. Aina.
The royal father noted that “the new registrar possesses the qualities required to sustain the integrity and credibility associated with the examination body under the leadership of the outgoing registrar, Isiaq Oloyede.”
According to the statement, the Oluwo said the administration of JAMB had been sanitised under Oloyede, adding that the institution had gained increased public confidence over the years.
He expressed optimism that Prof. Aina would improve on the standards and quality management already established within the board.
“I specially commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the appointment of Prof. Segun Aina as the new Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board,” the statement read.
“His appointment is a reflection of Tinubu’s commitment to identifying and involving young and promising talents in his administration.
“Having read his profile, and considering his family background with unquestionable records, Segun Aina will undoubtedly improve the tempo of trust and credibility built by his predecessor, Prof. Isiaq Oloyede,” he said.
Oba Akanbi congratulated Prof. Aina on the meritorious appointment and prayed for divine guidance for him in leading the board constructively.
