Nigerian military has been instrumental in recent fight against insecurity – US
The United States Africa Command, AFRICOM, says the Nigerian military has been instrumental throughout the last several months.
Commander of AFRICOM, Dagvin Anderson, stated this on Wednesday during a press briefing.
Anderson was speaking on the collaboration between Nigeria and the United States Government with regard to the recent security operations between both countries.
He said the Nigerian military has been helpful developing the target, helping with the intelligence, and providing support.
“So, it could not have been done only by our own forces. We needed to do that in conjunction with them.
“The operation over the weekend built a lot of that credibility of what the US can bring and those unique capabilities can be brought to bear in conjunction with our partners.
“We are using that to leverage that to engage with other nations, such as those in the Sahel, where the terrorists’ strikes continue to grow,” he said.
