Osifo scores zero as Tinubu sweeps FCT, Delta, Kogi, others in APC primary

Businessman, Stanley Osifo, the sole challenger to President Bola Tinubu at the All Progressives Congress presidential primary, scored zero votes in the Federal Capital Territory, Delta, Kogi, Ebonyi, Kwara, Borno, Kebbi, Edo, Enugu, Katsina, Kaduna and Jigawa states.
The results were announced on Sunday at the ongoing collation exercise at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja, with the incumbent sweeping the vote cast in those states.
The results, presented to the Presidential Primary Elections Committee by state collation officers, many of whom are sitting governors, revealed no votes cast for Osifo.
In the FCT, where collation officer, Philip Aduda, presented the result, all 36,103 votes cast went to Tinubu, with Osifo recording a zero.
In Kogi, Governor Usman Ododo presented the results showing that all 197,370 votes cast, from an accredited figure of the same number, went to Tinubu, with none for Osifo.
Delta Governor Sheriff Oborevwori announced that all the 407,646 votes cast went to Tinubu.
Ebonyi Governor Francis Nwifuru reported that all 207,579 votes went to Tinubu.
Jigawa Governor Umar Namadi said all 206,520 votes cast in the state’s APC wards went to Tinubu.
However, Osifo secured a few votes in other states.
In Anambra, out of 43,034 votes for Tinubu, Osifo received 383. In Abia, where Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu presented the result, he received 1,007 out of 162,012 cast.
In Kano, he polled 2,675 out of 503,527 cast. In Katsina, 229 out of 467,232 cast. In Oyo, he scored 929 against Tinubu’s 142,754.
He also scored no votes in Borno, Kwara and Enugu, where Tinubu polled 414,988, 310,990 and 383,382 votes respectively.
The President also won all the votes cast in Kebbi, polling 292,972 votes.
Osifo, a businessman from Edo State, had purchased the N100m APC presidential nomination form, the only other aspirant to do so, and vowed to contest against the incumbent after a planned consensus arrangement collapsed.
The nationwide direct primary was conducted across all 8,809 wards on Saturday, May 23, 2026.
The final declaration is expected to be followed immediately by the presentation of the party’s certificate of return and flag to Tinubu.
In attendance are APC governors, members of the National Executive Committee, the National Working Committee, National Assembly members and other party stalwarts.
At the time of filing this report, the collation exercise was still in progress.
