President Tinubu wins APC presidential primary election in Rivers
President Bola Tinubu has secured victory in the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential primary conducted in Rivers State.
Tinubu garnered 280,082 votes in the exercise, while the second aspirant, Stanley Osifo, did not record any vote.
The result was declared on Saturday by Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, who acted as the State Collation Officer for the primary election.
Speaking after collating results from the 23 local government areas of the state, Fubara said a total of 280,082 valid votes were cast during the exercise.
He explained that the votes were shared between the two contestants, with Tinubu receiving all the votes cast.
Fubara stated that the collated figures represented the authentic and accurate outcome of the primary from across the state.
He added that the results would be forwarded to the party’s national headquarters in Abuja in accordance with APC procedures, noting that the outcome clearly confirmed Tinubu as the winner of the Rivers State presidential primary.
