"I have no time for GenZ wahala" Bashir El-Rufai divorces first wife; set to marry another woman

Bashir El-Rufai has divorced his first wife Halima Nwakaego after 5 years of marriage and he is now set to marry another woman this year.

Bashir, who is one of the sons of former Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, married, Halima Nwakaego Kazaure, daughter of former Senator from Jigawa State, Ibrahim Kazaure, on November 21, 2020 (read here).

However, he took to X amid the Eid celebration to express his attraction for another woman on the microblogging platform. 

When X users called him out, he revealed that the woman is his fiancée. 

Confused X users asked if he isn’t married and he admitted that he is now divorced. 

As for his reason for divorce, he wrote: “I divorced my first wife, (l have no time for Genz wahala). The difference is clear. I had no clue Nupe women treat their husbands like emperors. Loving it.”

Meanwhile, Halima first hinted at problems in her marriage when she made a post amid the Frank Edoho and Sandra Edoho marriage crisis. Her post showed her aligning with singer Chike who Frank claims had an affair with his wife Sandra. 

She shared a photo of her listening to Chike’s song – If you no love – in her car and she wrote: “Chike dey for you.”
