SDP demands probe into attempted violent attack on Abuja national secretariat
The Social Democratic Party has called for a comprehensive investigation into the attempted violent attack on its National Secretariat in Abuja, insisting that security agencies must identify and prosecute not only those directly involved but also any sponsors or financiers behind the incident.
The call was contained in a statement issued by Lawal Ibrahim, Special Adviser on Media to the Executive National Chairman of the Party, Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam.In the statement, the party described the attempted invasion of its secretariat by suspected hoodlums and criminal elements as a serious threat to public order, party members, and democratic processes.
According to the statement, the attackers were allegedly acting in the interest of individuals seeking to impose themselves as the party’s presidential candidate.
The party pointed out that the attempted attack was aimed at disrupting activities at the secretariat before security operatives intervened.
