BENIN CITY – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged with a commanding lead in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election conducted across Edo State, polling the highest number of votes in all 192 wards of the state.
The exercise, which was held simultaneously with other states across the federation, was declared peaceful by the Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, who also served as the returning officer.
He described the process as orderly and transparent, noting that he personally participated and cast his vote in his ward.
Announcing the results at the APC secretariat in Ikpopan, GRA, Benin City, Okpebholo disclosed that President Tinubu secured a total of 131,096 votes across the state, while his sole challenger, Stanley Osifo, reportedly managed just one vote.
