A rising influential youth voice in Delta State and a United Kingdom-based social critic, Ifeanyi Samson Mogbolu has praised the appointment of Dr. John Nwabueze as Nigeria’s Tax Ombudsman, describing the development as a strategic and progressive step toward strengthening transparency, accountability, and good governance within Nigeria’s tax administration system.
Speaking during a chat, Nwabueze, Mogbolu expressed confidence in the leadership capacity and reform-driven vision of the newly appointed Tax Ombudsman, noting that his passion for institutional integrity and public service was clearly evident during their discussion.
According to Mogbolu, Nwabueze demonstrated a firm commitment to establishing a people-oriented institution that will protect taxpayers’ rights, promote fairness, and ensure that disputes between citizens and revenue authorities are resolved professionally, transparently, and impartially.
He further described the establishment of the Tax Ombudsman Office as a commendable initiative capable of restoring public confidence in the nation’s tax system while promoting accountability and reducing administrative excesses within revenue-related institutions.
“The Tax Ombudsman initiative is a bold and timely reform that reflects the principles of good governance, institutional justice, and democratic accountability. Nigeria needs institutions that prioritize transparency, fairness, and the protection of citizens’ interests,” Mogbolu stated.
He also noted that Delta State should take pride in the achievements and national contributions of Dr. John Nwabueze, emphasizing that his professionalism, competence, and readiness to serve are qualities deserving of recognition and support.
Mogbolu concluded by praying for God’s wisdom, strength, and guidance upon Dr. Nwabueze as he undertakes the responsibility of advancing tax justice, institutional credibility, and national development for the benefit of all Nigerians.
