[Video] ‘Help us’ – Abducted Ogbomoso school principal, teacher beg FG, Makinde

Videos showing a school principal and a teacher abducted during attacks on schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State have surfaced online, as families and residents continue to await updates on the victims’ rescue.

Gunmen had attacked Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Yawota; Community Grammar School, Esiele; and LA Primary School in Ogbomoso on Friday.

The Oyo State Police Command confirmed that two people were killed during the attacks, while reports indicated that at least 45 pupils and teachers were abducted by the assailants.

The Commissioner for Information in Oyo State, Dotun Oyelade, disclosed that security operatives had reportedly trapped the kidnappers within a section of the Old Oyo National Park.

In one of the viral videos, Alamu F.O., principal of Community High School, Esiele, recounted how armed men stormed the school around 9:30 a.m. on Friday.

She explained that both staff members and students were taken away during the invasion.

“We have been here since Friday. I’m making this video to ask for help from everyone, starting from the federal government, Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde, Christian Association of Nigeria, and all well-meaning Nigerians,” she pleaded.

“Come to our help and settle this thing peacefully so that our lives will not be lost.”

The footage appeared to have been recorded inside a forested area.

Another circulating video featured a woman identified as Temitope, a staff member of First Baptist Church, Yawota, carrying a child on her back while speaking emotionally about the incident.

Visibly distressed, she said the attackers invaded the Baptist school and abducted teachers alongside schoolchildren.

“Please help us. We need help. Tinubu, please help us. Our governor, Seyi Makinde, please help us. The children are here crying. Please help us so that we won’t waste our lives,” she said.
