2027: ADC will not join nor collapse into any political party – Abdullahi

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed claims indicating that it will collapse or merge into any other political party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

While the ADC will not join others, its doors remain wide open for members of other political parties to join its rank

The National Publicity Secretary of the ADC, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, made this declaration in Ilorin during an event marking the Eid al-Adha celebrations.

Abdullahi said the party would welcome alliances with other political parties based on shared political ideology.

According to him, the ADC had consistently produced credible candidates through its primaries for the State House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate and governorship elections.

He added that the party’s membership in Kwara State was growing daily.

He also stated that the ADC would welcome members from other political parties who are willing to join the opposition party, adding that “our door is wide open.”

The ADC spokesperson urged Nigerians to rally behind the party in the 2027 general elections to rescue the country from worsening insecurity and economic hardship.

He said that the ruling APC has brought untold hardship to the people of the country and so must be rejected in the 2027 general elections.

He said, “It is disheartening that we are experiencing a high rate of insecurity in the country as we cannot live peacefully again”.

He said that, “the reported cases of kidnapping have taken a serious toll on various states of the country, and this has brought a lot of serious concern to the populace”.

Abdullahi lamented the economic crunch, poverty and the lack of good governance exhibited by the APC toward Nigerians, saying that the only party to rescue Nigeria is ADC.

While calling on members of the party to brace for the tasks ahead, he said that the development would go a long way toward bringing positive change to the political life of Nigerians through their massive mobilisation for the electoral victory of the ADC in the 2027 polls.

He noted that the party’s candidates have been mandated and have agreed to comply with the party’s manifestos, saying that the development would assist the candidates after winning the polls in providing qualitative leadership to the people of the country.

He explained that the leadership of the party would support all the candidates who would ensure their electoral victory and even follow them to where they can garner votes so as to boost their victory during the period.

The party’s spokesperson, who assured that ADC will form government in Kwara and Nigeria come 2027, said, “We have qualified and experienced candidates. We don’t have candidates who have been to EFCC before.”

He, however, called for support from the nation’s electorate, saying that the tasks at hand are not only for candidates and that a change in leadership that will bring good governance cannot occur without the people’s support.
