2027: APC expands grassroots structure in Jigawa, opens new ward offices

The All Progressives Congress, APC, is strengthening its grassroots presence in Jigawa State, with Garki Local Government Area recording significant growth under the leadership of the council chairman, Adamu Hudu Kore.
The move comes months after the commissioning of the party’s local government secretariat in Garki town and the reception of several defectors from opposition parties into the APC fold.
As part of efforts to deepen the party’s reach at the grassroots, Mr Kore commenced the establishment of APC offices in all 11 wards of the local government area, beginning with Kore Ward.
Speaking with journalists, the chairman said the initiative is aimed at bringing party activities closer to members and enhancing political participation across the wards.
According to him, two ward offices will be commissioned every month until all 11 wards are covered.
He explained that the offices would serve as centres for party administration, mobilisation and community engagement, providing members with a platform to contribute to the party’s growth and development.
Mr Kore described Garki as a stronghold of the APC and expressed confidence that Jigawa State remains firmly under the control of the ruling party.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening democratic institutions at the grassroots and creating opportunities for wider political participation among residents.
The chairman also expressed optimism about the APC’s prospects in the 2027 general elections, predicting victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Umar Namadi and other candidates of the party.
He urged residents of the local government area to continue supporting the APC, saying such support would ensure the sustained implementation of Governor Namadi’s 12-Point Agenda and the delivery of more development projects to the people.
The establishment of ward offices, party officials said, is part of broader efforts to consolidate the APC’s structure in the state ahead of future electoral contests.
