“A wife should never pay house rent” — Social commentator, Solomon Buchi sparks debate

Social commentator, Solomon Buchi has sparked conversations online after sharing his views on marriage roles.

In a video making the rounds online, Solomon Buchi argued that a wife should never have to pay house rent or split rent with her husband, insisting that providing shelter is the barest minimum expected of a husband.

However, he added that if a woman expects her husband to be the sole financial provider, she should also be willing to take full responsibility for running the home.

According to him, cooking, cleaning, washing and creating a warm home environment should primarily be the wife’s responsibility in such an arrangement.

He went on to argue that many modern women want a man who pays all the bills while also expecting him to share domestic chores, describing that expectation as a double standard.
