âGovernment is weaponising poverty so they can pay hungry people to vote for them againâ â Lady shares bold take on vote-buying

A Nigerian woman has sparked reactions online after alleging that the government is deliberately using poverty as a tool to influence elections through vote-buying.
In a video making the rounds online, she argued that Nigeria’s biggest problem is an identity crisis affecting both those in government and the citizens.
According to her, vote-buying will never end unless Nigerians realise there is no reason to sell their votes, stressing that the money and resources politicians share during elections already belong to the people.
She likened the situation to the biblical story of Esau and Jacob, saying hunger can push people into making decisions they later regret.
The woman added that while citizens who sell their votes must take responsibility for their actions, the government is equally guilty for creating conditions where poverty is used to manipulate desperate people during elections.
