APC Rice Distribution Sparks Fresh Vote-Buying Allegations Ahead of Osun Election

Footage shared early Thursday captures women leaving a compound in Osun State carrying rice bags tied to the APC’s ‘Idera-Tide’ campaign, linked to former Governor Oyetola’s foundation.
The development has sparked accusations of vote-buying ahead of the August 15 governorship election, where APC’s candidate AMBO is set to challenge incumbent Governor Adeleke.
Critics online have labelled the distribution an inducement, while similar handouts are often defended as empowerment by their organisers, particularly amid soaring food prices.
The practice remains a recurring feature of Nigerian electoral contests despite being prohibited by law.
