Couple and 4-year-old son found d3ad in Ogun home, police launch investigation

The Ogun State Police Command has commenced investigation into the d3aths of a couple and their 4-year-old son in Ijebu-Igbo.

It was gathered that the lifeless bodies of mother, son and a man popularly known as Ope, also called “Shanko” were discovered inside a home on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, throwing the community into shock and mourning. 

According to information gathered at the scene, the woman and the man were reportedly found d3ad inside the toilet, while the woman’s son was discovered lifeless in one of the rooms within the house.

Initial observations from the scene indicated signs of possible disturbance before the incident, as some parts of the toilet and other household items were found damaged.

While unconfirmed reports circulating within the community suggest that poisoning may have been involved, authorities have yet to officially establish or announce the cause of d3ath.

The spokesperson for the command, Oluseyi Babaseyi, who confirmed the incident to Peoples Gazette, stating that investigation is ongoing to ascertain the circumstances that led to the deaths.

“The Ogun State Police Command is investigating the tragic d3ath of a couple and their four-year-old child discovered in their residence at Oke-Sopen, Ijebu-Igbo, on June 10, 2026,” the PPRO said.

“Investigation is ongoing while the bodies have been deposited at the General Hospital Mortuary, Ijebu-Igbo.”
