Dutch police have arrested a teenager and a man in connection with separate incidents involving women who were attacked while riding bicycles.
In the first case, a 17-year-old boy from Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht near Rotterdam was arrested on suspicion of carrying out nine attacks on women in his town and nearby Zwijndrecht.
Police allege that the teenager used a fatbike to knock women off their bicycles before sexually assaulting them.
In another case, police in Venlo arrested a man suspected of attacking two women in Utrecht last week.
The arrest followed the circulation of the suspect’s images on a television crime programme.
Police said the man allegedly dragged the women from their bicycles and attacked them.
Both Utrecht incidents happened last Thursday around 2 a.m. in the city centre. Investigators believe the women were randomly targeted.
Authorities have not released further details about the suspect as investigations continue.
