Head of Service of the Federation Commends Okpebholo’s Developmental Strides in Edo

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack, has commended Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for what she described as his developmental strides since assuming office on November 12, 2024.

Walson-Jack made the commendation during a courtesy visit to the governor in Benin City while on a visit to Edo State for the public presentation of a book titled Rebuilding the Nigerian Civil Service: A Reformer’s Perspective, written by the Edo State Head of Service, Dr Anthony Osas Okungbowa.

Speaking during the visit, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation said she was impressed by the development projects being undertaken by the Okpebholo administration, noting that the governor’s people-oriented programmes would have a positive impact on residents of the state.

“We are here early in the day to attend the public presentation of a book written by the Head of Service of Edo State, Dr Anthony Osas Okungbowa.

“I am happy to be in Edo State and to see the developmental strides Governor Monday Okpebholo has embarked upon. I am hoping to see the flyover bridge that is under construction, and I look forward to coming back to Edo State to interact more,” she said.

Walson-Jack also praised the Edo State Head of Service, Dr Okungbowa, for his dedication and partnership with the governor in transforming both the Edo State civil service and governance in the state.

According to her, the Edo Head of Service has continued to distinguish himself and is working assiduously in collaboration with the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation in strengthening ties with state civil services across the country.

Responding, Governor Okpebholo thanked Walson-Jack for visiting Edo State and for the gifts she presented to him.

“I welcome you to Edo State and I am sorry that, due to my busy schedule, I was unable to attend the book launch held in the state today.

“I am happy to see you. I have admired you from afar, and I am truly overwhelmed by the gifts you brought, especially the book presentation, which is very impressive,” the governor said.

He also commended her for her service as Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, noting that her professionalism was reflected in the conduct of the Edo State Head of Service.

“My Head of Service is taking after you, and if my Head of Service is doing well and discharging his duties professionally, then I am sure you are exceptionally professional in your job,” he said.
