A Ghanaian woman has opened up about how she became involved in drug trafficking after allegedly being introduced to the trade by the father of her son, who was based in the United Kingdom.
Speaking in an interview with Auntie Naa on Oyerepa FM on June 24, 2026, the woman alleged that she smuggled cocaine and marijuana from Ghana to the UK on several occasions before she was eventually arrested and sentenced to 10 years in prison.
According to her, the man introduced her to the illegal business and connected her with individuals who supplied the drugs.
“He told he that he was into the smuggling of drugs from Ghana to the UK. And so he introduced me to some people, who I would go to for the drugs and send them to him. I did it so many times. He showed me the people to give the drugs to so they would get to him, and any time he got them, he called and informed me.
“I was living in his house, so he also sent me money to buy building materials like tiles and cement… I did this work with him till I got pregnant. I lost the child during my first pregnancy, but subsequently, I got pregnant again, and I gave birth to a baby boy,” she narrated.
She explained that her involvement in the operation came to an end after law enforcement authorities traced a shipment of drugs she had allegedly taken to the airport for transportation to the UK.
According to her, she was arrested, prosecuted and sentenced to 10 years in prison. Despite the conviction, she said she never disclosed the identity of the father of her son to investigators.
After completing her prison sentence, she claimed the man approached her and wanted them to continue the drug business, but she declined because of the painful experience she had endured behind bars.
The woman alleged that her refusal to return to the illegal trade led to the breakdown of their relationship.
She said the man threw her out of his house and took custody of their son.
According to her, following the man’s death, his sister took control of his properties and has refused to support their now 20-year-old son.
She further alleged that her son has become addicted to drugs and is struggling without the support of his late father’s family.
The woman is now appealing for what she describes as her rightful share of the late man’s estate, arguing that she played a significant role in helping him acquire his wealth and properties before her imprisonment.
