INEC presents Certificates of Return to winners of June 20 by-elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has presented Certificates of Return to candidates who won the by-elections held on June 20, 2026, across Rivers, Enugu, Nasarawa, Ondo and Kano states.

The commission announced this on its official X platform on Tuesday.

The certificates were issued on behalf of the INEC Chairman, Joash Amupitan, by the Supervising National Commissioner for Rivers State, May Agbamuche-Mbu.

In her remarks, Agbamuche-Mbu congratulated the winners and urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by their constituents through effective representation and service delivery.

She said the primary responsibility of elected officials is to serve the people diligently and ensure their interests are well represented.

According to INEC, Certificates of Return will also be issued to winners of the Kebbi State House of Assembly Zuru Constituency election and the Ekiti State governorship election.

National Commissioners representing the respective constituencies presented the certificates to the elected candidates, formally affirming them as duly returned winners of their elections.
