Katsina: APC chieftain empowers 200 tea sellers, unveils Tinubu/Radda re-election team

An All Progressives Congress, APC, Chieftain in Katsina, Abdulaziz Maituraka, has launched the Tinubu/Radda re-election campaign with an empowerment programme for 200 commercial tea sellers and party officials.

Speaking at the event in Katsina on Sunday, Maituraka said each tea seller received crates of eggs, cartons of indomie noodles, and N20,000 in cash to support their businesses.

He added that APC executives in Katsina Local Government Area and officials from the 11 wards would also receive cash grants to start small-scale businesses.

Mr Maituraka said the intervention, implemented through his foundation, was designed to ease economic hardship and strengthen micro businesses.

He noted that many small business owners were struggling due to the current economic situation and needed support to sustain their operations.

The APC chieftain assured residents that more empowerment programmes would be rolled out to help unemployed youths become self-reliant.

According to him, the beneficiaries are the party’s grassroots mobilisers who consistently protect its interests and therefore deserve greater support.

He also appealed to Nigerians to remain patient with President Bola Tinubu’s administration, saying efforts were ongoing to address the country’s economic and security challenges.

Mr Maituraka urged the people to support the re-election of President Tinubu and Gov. Dikko Radda, citing their achievements in office.

He said both leaders deserved another term to consolidate their development programmes.

The APC Chairman in Katsina, Bishir Gambo-Saulawa, commended Maituraka for his consistent support to vulnerable groups and urged other politicians to emulate him.

Mr Gambo-Saulawa said empowerment initiatives should not be restricted to election periods, stressing that many citizens still need assistance to overcome economic hardship.

He also lauded Governor Radda for creating employment opportunities for youths and women through the Katsina Craft Village and the State Enterprise Development Agency.

The chairman further praised the governor for awarding the contract for the completion of the Zobe Dam project, expressing optimism that it would improve water supply in the state.
