Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District and former Governor of Plateau State, Simon Bako Lalong, has congratulated His Royal Highness, Hon. Justice Ahmed Ubangari Alaku Mari, on his formal installation as the Aren Eggon, Paramount Traditional Ruler of the Eggon Nation.
Senator Lalong described the installation as a moment of great significance not only for the Eggon people but for the entire North Central region, noting that the emergence of Justice Alaku Mari as the custodian of the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the Eggon Nation is well deserved considering his distinguished record of service, integrity and leadership.
Lalong said the new Aren Eggon has built an enviable reputation through decades of service in the judiciary, where he rose through the ranks from Magistrate to Chief Judge of Nasarawa State.
He noted that throughout his judicial career, Justice Alaku Mari demonstrated uncommon wisdom, fairness, diligence and commitment to the rule of law, earning the respect of his colleagues, the legal profession and the wider society.
The Senator also recalled that before his ascension to the throne, the revered monarch served meritoriously as Wazirin Eggon and contributed immensely to the advancement of the traditional institution and the unity of the Eggon people.
According to him, these experiences have adequately prepared him for the enormous responsibility of leading the Eggon Nation at this critical period.
Lalong further praised the kingmakers and the entire Eggon Traditional Council for selecting a leader whose wealth of experience in public service, conflict resolution and community development will strengthen the institution and promote peace, harmony and progress within the kingdom.
He expressed confidence that under the leadership of His Royal Highness, the Eggon Nation will continue to witness greater unity, cultural renaissance and socio-economic development, while contributing significantly to the peace and stability of Nasarawa State and Nigeria as a whole.
On behalf of the people of Plateau South Senatorial District, Senator Lalong wished the new Aren Eggon a successful and impactful reign marked by wisdom, good health, peace, prosperity and the continued advancement of his people.
