Obi, Obidients would attempt to refute that Anambra was insecure during his tenure

Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, Bayo Onanuga, on Saturday, said the Nigeria Democratic Congress, ADC, presidential candidate, Peter Obi and members of the Obidient Movement would attempt a “brazen revisionism” if told that Anambra State was insecure during his tenure as governor.
Onanuga made the remark while backing former governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano, who claimed that Anambra was not safe during Obi’s administration.
He said, “Peter Obi handed over a state with Zero security to me. Over 69 people were kidnapped under him, and indigenes avoided coming home to Anambra.”
Obi served as the governor of Anambra State from March 17, 2006, to March 17, 2014.
His time in office included a few brief interruptions due to legal and political battles, spanning two full terms.
Obi’s first term, March 17, 2006, to November 2, 2006, when he was impeached and reinstated February 9, 2007, serving until May 29, 2007.
He was returned to office by a Supreme Court ruling on June 14, 2007, and completed his first term on March 17, 2010.
The second term was March 17, 2010, to March 17, 2014.
However, posting on X, Onanuga wrote: “Ask Peter Obi today, whether Anambra was secure under his watch, he and his Obidients would attempt a brazen revisionism.
“But the internet never forgets. And Obiano, Obi’s successor, is still alive.”
