Okaighele praises Oba Of Benin anti-insecurity initiative

BENIN CITY — The Okaighele of Irokhin-Evbokhi Community in Ward 9, Uhunmwode Local Government Area of Edo State, Evans Oloye Isibor, has commended the Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II, for convening a crucial meeting aimed at addressing the growing security challenges confronting Edo State and Nigeria.
The royal father recently summoned traditional priests, priestesses, native doctors and youth leaders to a strategic meeting at his palace in Benin City as part of efforts to explore traditional mechanisms that could complement government initiatives in tackling insecurity.
Speaking on behalf of the people of Irokhin-Evbokhi Community, Isibor described the initiative as timely, visionary and reflective of the Oba’s unwavering commitment to the peace, stability and well-being of the Benin Kingdom and the nation at large.
According to him, “The decision of our revered monarch, His Royal Majesty Oba Ewuare II, to convene stakeholders within the traditional institution to deliberate on the worsening security situation in our country demonstrates exceptional leadership and genuine concern for the safety of the people.”
He noted that insecurity has become a major challenge affecting communities, farmers, traders and families across the country, adding that every legitimate effort geared towards restoring peace deserves the support of all well-meaning Nigerians.
“Oba Ewuare II has once again shown that traditional institutions remain relevant in nation-building. His intervention is not only commendable but also reassuring to the people who look up to traditional rulers for guidance, wisdom and solutions during difficult times,” Isibor stated.
The Okaighele of Irokhin-Evbokhi Community, Evans Oloye Isibor further urged traditional rulers, government agencies, security operatives, youth groups and community leaders to collaborate in the fight against crime and criminality.
He said: “Security is a collective responsibility. The Oba’s initiative should serve as a rallying point for all stakeholders to work together towards protecting lives and property. We must complement the efforts of government by remaining vigilant and providing useful information to security agencies.”
Isibor also expressed confidence that the deliberations and resolutions arising from the palace meeting would contribute significantly to ongoing efforts aimed at strengthening security across Edo State and Nigeria.
While offering prayers for peace and unity in the country, he reaffirmed the loyalty and support of the people of Irokhin-Evbokhi Community to the Benin throne.
