Real Madrid have confirmed the signing of defender Ibrahima Konate from Liverpool on a four-year deal following the expiration of his contract at Anfield.
In a statement, the Spanish club announced that the agreement runs through to June 30, 2030.
The 27-year-old centre-back joined Liverpool from RB Leipzig in 2021, going on to make 183 appearances for the club and winning the Premier League in 2025 along with the FA Cup in 2022, among other honours.
Konate, currently representing France at the World Cup, becomes the latest reinforcement for a Real Madrid side already strengthened this summer by the arrival of new coach Jose Mourinho, as well as the signings of Spanish left-back Marc Cucurella and Portuguese midfielder Bernardo Silva.
The club has also been linked with a move for Inter Milan wing-back Denzel Dumfries as part of a broader squad overhaul following two consecutive trophyless seasons.
In related squad news, Real Madrid have extended the contract of centre-back Antonio Rudiger until 2027, following the departures of Dani Carvajal and David Alaba at the end of their respective deals at the Santiago Bernabeu.
