Remi Tinubu commissions NRCS headquarters

The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has commissioned the first National Headquarters of the Nigerian Red Cross Society in Abuja.
In her address, Senator Tinubu noted that the society has remained steadfast in its mission of serving humanity without discrimination.
She said the society has consistently demonstrated an enduring commitment to alleviating human suffering and bringing hope to the most vulnerable.
“I am confident that this new office building will further strengthen the Society’s capacity to coordinate its humanitarian activities, enhance operational effectiveness, and deepen its impact across Nigeria.
“The influence of the activities of the Red Cross Society extends far beyond our shores. Whether providing first aid, responding to disasters, supporting victims of conflict, promoting health and well-being, or delivering humanitarian assistance to communities in need, the Society has remained steadfast in its mission of serving humanity without discrimination.”
The First Lady, who was earlier decorated as the Grand Matron of the Society, commended the leadership, staff, partners, and volunteers of the Nigerian Red Cross Society for their dedication and sacrifice.
“Your selfless service continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of countless individuals and families,” she said.
As part of the commissioning ceremony, Senator Tinubu toured the facility, including the Incident Room, where she was briefed on the operations of the Society’s fully digitised response system.
In their separate remarks, the President of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Prince Oluyemisi Adeaga, the Head of Country Cluster for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, Doris El-Doueihy, and other partners commended the Federal Government’s efforts in addressing the various challenges that give rise to humanitarian crises.
They also reaffirmed their support and commitment to making life more bearable for victims of humanitarian crises across the country.
