A shop owner in Ashaiman has taken to social media to publicly identify a woman she accused of stealing two boxes of Kingsbite Milk Chocolate from her store, in a video that has since circulated widely on the Ghanaian internet.
In the footage, the shop owner is heard alleging that the woman entered the premises without any intention to make a purchase and attempted to leave with the two boxes of chocolate concealed on her person.
“She didn’t come to buy anything. She walked into the shop and stole two boxes of chocolates,” the shop owner alleged in the video, adding a warning to fellow traders: “Everybody should take note of her — if she comes to your shop, she’s not coming to buy anything.”
The accused woman is shown in the video holding the two boxes of chocolate, with shelves of beverages and goods visible in the background.
The matter had not been formally reported to the Ghana Police Service as of press time, and no arrest had been made. The identity of the accused woman has not been independently verified.
