Tinubu appointed me as ambassador to four nations — Reno Omokri

A former presidential aide and social media commentator, Reno Omokri, has revealed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu nominated him to serve as Nigeria’s ambassador to four different nations concurrently in Central and South America.
Omokri made this disclosure in a direct response to a follower on his official Facebook page, where he addressed apparent comparisons being made between his diplomatic posting and that of a certain Professor Yakubu.
He explained that his deployment naturally involves a more complex diplomatic procedure because it requires the approval of multiple foreign governments.
Shedding light on the nature of his appointment, Omokri stated, “His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, chose to nominate me as an Ambassador to serve concurrently in four countries in Central and South America. Therefore, the processes involved for me, as an envoy to four different nations with four different Presidents, differ from those of others.”
Addressing the social media user identified as Kachi, who seemingly tried to incite a rivalry, Omokri dismissed the notion of unhealthy competition, maintaining that his destiny and timeline are entirely independent of others’ achievements. He firmly rejected the societal pressure of comparing peers, emphasising his personal philosophy and contentment.
“I don’t come from a ‘See your mate’ culture. So, what happens with others does not determine my actions. I come from a tradition where other people’s successes and progress do not stimulate in me contest, competition, rivalry, envy, or jealousy,” he declared.
“God created me and sent me to this world for a purpose. And that destiny is a standalone fate, and has nothing to do with the doings or achievements of other people.”
While acknowledging that Professor Yakubu was appointed as an ambassador to a “very great and influential country,” Omokri maintained that he remains perfectly satisfied with his own multi-nation assignment and the pace at which it is unfolding.
“I am content with where I am and satisfied with whatever doors it pleases God to open for me at whatever time. That has been the way of my ancestors, and it is that way of life I am passing to my own lineage,” Omokri concluded.
“But the main thing is that I am not from a ‘See your mate’ background, and as long as I put in my best effort, I am very satisfied with where God has placed me at any given time.”
