Trump warns Netanyahu 'you'll be on your own soon' after fresh Iran attack launched

US President Donald Trump has issued another warning to long-time ally, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu.
The Middle East has been the site of strike exchanges since February 28, when the US and Israel carried out joint attacks on Iran.
Iran retaliated by striking sites across the region and closing the Strait of Hormuz trade route, disrupting global markets.
Trump told Axios in an interview published on Monday, June 8: “I said, ‘Bibi, you better be careful, or you will be on your own very soon’,” Trump told Axios.
His warning comes after Israel disobeyed Trump’s orders not to attack Iran after the Arab nation launched a barrage of missiles on Sunday, the biggest escalation since a short-term ceasefire was brokered in April.
Trump’s threat appears to have worked.
Netanyahu said on Monday that his country is holding off attacks on Iran and Hezbollah in Lebanon “for now”, The Mirror reported.
Iran “tried to dictate a new equation, one that we cannot accept”, he said in a televised statement. “And after we targeted the terrorist regime in Iran, they stopped their attacks against us.”
Netanyahu warned that if “they commit another error and strike us again, we will respond harshly simply because we have the right to defend ourselves”.
Trump’s warning is the latest spat between the two leaders.
He has repeatedly cautioned Netanyahu about disobeying his orders.
The Financial Times reported on Sunday that Trump, in an interview, raged: “He won’t have any choice. I call the shots. I call all the shots. He [Netanyahu] doesn’t call the shots.”
He war referring to the terms of a long-term peace deal with Iran.
Trump also told Fox News that he would tell Netanyahu to refrain from retaliatory action against Iran, which Netanyahu ignored.
Last week, Trump reportedly told the prime minister, “You’re f***ing crazy. You’d be in prison if it weren’t for me.”
“I’m saving your a**. Everybody hates you now. Everybody hates Israel because of this.”
