UK issues urgent 'do not travel' alert to European countries ahead of summer holidays

The UK has named several countries, including some European neighbours, that Brits should avoid travelling to after geopolitical tensions across the region presented sudden security breakdowns.
Along with Australia, the US, South Korea and host of other nations, the UK has advised its citizens not to travel to certain high-risk zones, Travel and Tour World reported.
The alerts specifically impacted riskier areas such as Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey.
Other countries were placed under higher caution.
The coordinated move by allied governments affected air travel and caused flight disruptions from major European hubs.
The knock-on effect of a single delayed or cancelled flight can ripple across multiple routes, given how interconnected the aviation network is.
The “do not travel” warnings were framed as preventative actions rather than punitive sanctions.
