An emotional moment was captured after social media creator Abdul Gafaru Sadi, popularly known as Webkid, reunited with his family following his release on bail.
The content creator, who is known for supporting dancehall artiste Shatta Wale, was granted bail by the Accra High Court after spending weeks in custody.
Webkid had been in detention since his arrest on May 7, 2026, after dancehall musician Stonebwoy reportedly filed a complaint against him over allegations of publishing false information and engaging in offensive conduct online.
Prosecutors accused Webkid of using his X account to share content they described as false, misleading and capable of causing fear and public alarm.
The charges were filed under Section 76 of the Electronic Communications Act, 2008, with the number of counts later increasing from four to six as investigations continued.
During the court proceedings, Shatta Wale appeared at the Accra High Court to show support for his fan.
The court later granted Webkid bail set at GH¢100,000, allowing him to return home after more than six weeks in custody.
After his release, a touching reunion between Webkid and his father went viral on social media.
In a video shared by Tema Jesus Official, Webkid’s father was seen breaking down in tears as he hugged his son. The emotional father-son moment showed Webkid comforting him after their long separation.
Another video showed Webkid arriving in his community, where friends, relatives and supporters gathered to welcome him home.
The crowd celebrated his return, took photos and recorded videos as he reunited with loved ones while awaiting the next stage of his legal case.
