Bauchi Assembly screens, confirms four commissioner-nominees

The Bauchi State House of Assembly on Wednesday screened and confirmed four commissioner-nominees forwarded by the state governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed.
The screening and confirmation took place during a plenary session presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Dr Abubakar Y. Suleiman, at the temporary Assembly complex.
The confirmation followed the nominees’ appearance before the lawmakers for a rigorous screening exercise, during which their educational qualifications, professional experience, competence and preparedness to serve in the State Executive Council were thoroughly examined.
Satisfied with their responses and credentials, the Assembly unanimously confirmed their appointments, clearing the way for their formal inauguration.
Speaking on behalf of the confirmed nominees, Ibrahim Baraya expressed profound appreciation to Governor Mohammed for finding them worthy of the responsibility. He also thanked the House of Assembly for its confidence and overwhelming support.
He assured the people of the state that the incoming commissioners would approach their responsibilities with integrity, transparency, diligence and an unwavering commitment to effective public service.
Baraya further pledged that, upon assuming office, the commissioners would faithfully implement Governor Bala Mohammed’s “My Bauchi Project” blueprint.
He described the initiative as a visionary roadmap designed to deepen development, strengthen governance and accelerate socio-economic transformation across the state.
The confirmation marks the beginning of a new chapter of service, with the commissioners expected to assume office upon the completion of all constitutional and administrative formalities required for their appointments.
The confirmed commissioner-nominees are Muhammad Tukur Adamu from Kirfi Local Government Area; Madaki Ahmed Gololo from Gamawa Local Government Area; Bashir Ya’u from Katagum Local Government Area; and Ibrahim Baraya from Warji Local Government Area.
