CAC Registrar-General congratulates Badejo-Okusanya on historic NBA presidency

The Registrar-General of the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, has congratulated Badejo-Okusanya on her election as the first female President of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, describing the feat as a landmark achievement in the history of the legal profession in Nigeria.

Mr Magaji, in a congratulatory message issued on Tuesday, said Mrs Badejo-Okusanya’s emergence as the first woman to lead the country’s foremost association of legal practitioners reflected her competence, leadership qualities and the confidence reposed in her by members of the Bar.

He described her election as a significant milestone that would inspire greater inclusion and participation of women in leadership positions within the legal profession and beyond.

“The remarkable achievement is a testament to her leadership, competence, and the confidence reposed in her by members of the Bar,” the CAC registrar-general said.

Mr Magaji reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to sustaining its longstanding partnership with the NBA, noting that the association remains a critical stakeholder in Nigeria’s corporate regulatory framework.

According to him, the NBA is duly represented on the Governing Board of the Corporate Affairs Commission, underscoring the strategic relationship between the two institutions.

He expressed optimism that the collaboration between the CAC and the NBA would be further strengthened under Mrs Badejo-Okusanya’s leadership, particularly in advancing corporate regulation, legal reforms and improved service delivery.

“I look forward to strengthening our collaboration in advancing corporate regulation, legal reforms, and service delivery in Nigeria,” he stated.

The CAC boss wished the newly elected NBA President a successful and impactful tenure, expressing confidence that her leadership would contribute to the continued growth of the legal profession and the promotion of the rule of law in the country.

He added: “Congratulations once again, Madam President. I wish you a successful and impactful tenure.”
