Catholic priest found dead with multiple stab wounds by roadside
Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, a Catholic priest born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area, has been found dead by the roadside with multiple stab wounds.
The priest, who was found dead in the Ajaokuta area of the state, until his death served at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.
According to available information, Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was reportedly stabbed multiple times, and his lifeless body was later discovered by the roadside in Ajaokuta.
The full circumstances surrounding the incident are still unclear, and authorities are yet to issue a comprehensive official statement. Investigations into the killing are ongoing.
The tragic death of the priest has thrown the Catholic community and many residents of Kogi State into mourning.
