After the Bauchi State Police Command charged two individuals for their involvement in a burglary in Liman Katagum, Bauchi Local Government Area, a Magistrate’s Court in Bauchi State found them guilty of conspiracy, criminal trespass, housebreaking, and stealing.

SP Nafiu Habib, the Command’s spokesperson, confirmed the conviction in a statement on Thursday.

According to the authorities, the case began after a resident of Bandan Village complained to the Liman Katagum authorities Division on June 27, 2026, that his house had been broken into many weeks earlier.

The two inmates, Iliyasu Musa, 28, and Ibrahim Isah, both from Baluwa Village, were charged with cooperating to break into the house and take a number of personal items.

Two Android phones, two keypad phones, a power bank, N20,000 in cash, two T-shirts, and a wristwatch were among the things taken during the incident.

The stolen goods were estimated by the police to be worth roughly N244,000.

According to SP Habib, during the inquiry, detectives located and detained the suspects. Before they were charged, he said, both men acknowledged their involvement in the crime.

Following preliminary investigations, the two suspects were apprehended.

They confessed to the offence during interrogation and were then sent to court, where they were convicted,” the police spokesperson said.

Reacting to the resolution of the case, the Commissioner of Police in Bauchi State, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, congratulated the Divisional Police Officer and the investigative team for their professionalism.
