The Ondo State Police Command has arrested at least four suspects for allegedly assaulting and publicly humiliating a resident of the state, an incident captured in a viral video showing the victim being forced to dance.
According to reports, the victim, identified as Boluwaji Temidayo, was accused of making a fake transfer to a Point of Sale (POS) operator.
In the video circulating online, some angry youths were seen assaulting the victim, forcing him to dance while balancing the POS machine on his head.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Ondo State Command, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, condemned the incident, explaining that the victim had reported at the Okuta Elerinla Police Station.
On Thursday that he was att@cked by a group of persons who physically assaulted him, recorded the incident without his consent, and subsequently uploaded the video to various social media platforms.
He said the complainant told police that the incident occurred on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.
The suspects were named as Gbemisola Ariyo, Babatunde Eniola, Adams Tobiloba and Fasusi Bunmi.
According to the statement, upon receiving the complaint, police operatives immediately commenced a discreet and technology-driven forensic investigation into the viral video, deploying digital intelligence and other investigative resources to identify those involved in the alleged att@ck and the unlawful dissemination of the footage.
The investigation led to the identification and arrest of the four suspects believed to have participated in the incident and played active roles in recording and circulating the video.
