Details as Lagos releases 2026/2027 school calendar

The details of the school calendar for both private and public schools for the 2026/2027 academic year have been released by the Lagos State Government.
The Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Jamiu Tolani Alli-Balogun, had earlier unveiled the 2026/2027 school calendar.
The officially approved 2026/2027 harmonised academic calendar covers all public and private primary and secondary schools.
The unified session mandates a total of 182 school days and requires strict adherence, with specialised schools using international curricula needing to apply for flexibility.
The First Term resumption will be on September 14, 2026, with the Mid-Term Break to be observed between November 2 and 6, 2026.
The first term will end on December 18, 2026, while students will resume for the Second Term on January 11, 2027.
The term is scheduled to end in April 2027, with exact dates to be finalised by the state.
The Third Term resumption has been fixed for May 3, 2027 and ends on July 30, 2027.
