Popular Nigerian content creator Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, has sparked widespread reactions online after publicly expressing gratitude to Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu, following his release from the Kirikiri Correctional Centre.

According to reports, DJ Chicken regained his freedom on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, after spending nearly two weeks in custody. Shortly after his release, he posted a photo of Seyi Tinubu on his Instagram Stories with the caption, “Hmm ddddy,” and also changed his Instagram profile picture to Seyi’s image.

In a video announcing his release, DJ Chicken thanked the Nigerian government, Seyi Tinubu, and President Bola Tinubu, saying that freedom is invaluable and expressing appreciation for those who supported him during the ordeal.

His arrest followed his arraignment on a three-count charge relating to alleged violations of the Cybercrimes Act, breach of peace, and alleged threats to kill Seyi Tinubu. The charges stemmed from a viral video in which he allegedly made threatening remarks and claimed President Bola Tinubu would not secure re-election in 2027.

Before his arrest, DJ Chicken had publicly apologized, stating that the comments were intended as a joke to attract attention and boost his online popularity. Despite the apology, legal proceedings continued, leading to his detention before his eventual release.

The incident has generated mixed reactions on social media, with some users interpreting his post-release remarks as gratitude, while others have questioned the dramatic change in tone toward Seyi Tinubu.
