EDSG Quick Intervention Led To Commencement Of Repair Work Under The Damaged Idogbo Bridge

Edo State Government (EDSG) prompt intervention to the Idogbo bypass bridge have led to the commence of repair work by the logistics Company whose truck caused the damage.
Leading a team of engineers to the site to inspect the repair work, Special Adviser on Projects Implementation and Monitoring Phoebe Williams-Bello said governor Monday Okpebholo is determined to protect both Federal and State government properties in the State, hence his intervention leading to the quick repair of the damaged portion of the road.
She thanked the governor for his quick intervention given the necessary directive which brought the concerned government agencies to inspect the damage portion two days ago.
“We saw the damage caused. They have signed an agreement to fix the road and the road is being reinstated back to how it was to enable vehicular movement.
“It’s raining now and work is ongoing and we are proud of the response by various agencies concerned. The governor is determined to protect government properties domicile in Edo State.
Federal Controller of works Edo State, Engr. Babatunde Tajudeen commended the prompt response by the logistics Company immediately the mandate was given to fix the damaged portion.
“Immediately, the mandate was given to the logistics company to fix the road, under the Idogbo bridge KM 35 along Benin bypass they responded and now the road is being fixed. We are here to affirm the directive given”.
The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Works Edo State Engr John Obanor appealed to road users to be patient with the contractor and urging them to obey road signs to ensure free flow of traffic as the work is in progress.
The Chairman of the Edo State Public Property Protection Committee (PPPC),Eugene Okoloise who took possession of the keys to the truck which caused the damage was on site with the team and released the keys back to the company since the repair work has commenced.
The contractor in charge of the road Engr. June said equipment has been brought to site as they will work day and night to ensure that the job is completed soonest.
Secretary Idogbo Community in Ikpoba Okah local government area of Edo State Mr. Friday Uhunamure thanked the governor of Edo State for the prompt response and all agencies concerned in ensuring that repair work commenced.
