Gbajamiamila: Ex-Buhari’s minister names top govt officials to be held accountable (FULL LIST)

Former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung, has listed some top government officials that should be held accountable in the controversial ‘Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, PFIPC’ scandal.

Featuring in an interview on Channels Television’s ‘Sunrise Daily’ on Friday, Dalung said such personalities regardless of their position must be investigated.

Among them are President Bola Tinubu, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, George Akume, and the National Security Adviser, NSA, Nuhu Ribadu.

Others include the Director-General of the Department of State Services, DSS, the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.

“These people, in my view, played roles in embarrassing Nigeria,” Dalung said.

Recall that Adeyemi alleged that Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, received N400 million through a proxy and allegedly demanded an additional N200 million to secure his appointment.

The Presidency has, however, debunked the allegation, saying Gbajabiamila cannot write letters or give appointments.

Dalung insisted that Gbajabiamila is the prime suspect in the controversy, noting that anyone who overlooks his role is complicit in what he termed an embarrassing episode for Nigeria.

According to him, no credible investigation into the alleged activities of businessman Adeniyi at the Presidential Villa can succeed without first scrutinising the office of the President’s top aide.

“Anybody who is not looking at the Chief of Staff to the President as a prime suspect is complicit in the entire transaction and needs to be investigated,” Dalung said.

The ex-minister added that the Chief of Staff occupies a critical position within the Presidency, making it impossible for anyone to gain access to the Presidential Villa without the necessary authorisation.

Questioning how Adeniyi allegedly gained entry into the Villa, Dalung maintained that access to the seat of government is tightly regulated through a structured security protocol.

He argued that Gbajabiamila must account for whether the President was misled, whether critical information was deliberately withheld, or whether the situation resulted from what he described as “a personal and selfish agenda.”
