Gunmen Kill Two Brothers in Enugu Livestock Settlement Attack

According to reports, two sons of Alhaji Haruna Sale, the South-East Zonal Chairman of the Miyetti Allah livestock Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), were killed when gunmen attacked a livestock settlement in Oheoyya Community, Ezeagu Local Government Area, Enugu State.
Ahmadu and Umaru, the victims, were allegedly murdered during the attack on Saturday, July 25 at approximately 5:00 p.m.
There have also apparently been about 40 slaughtered cattle belonging to organization members.
In a statement by MACBAN’s National Deputy Director-General, Gidado Siddiki, the association alleged that unidentified armed men stormed the settlement, k!lled the two brothers and att@cked the cattle, describing the incident as a tragic ass@ult on law-abiding citizens engaged in legitimate livestock business.
MACBAN commended the Enugu State Government and security agencies for recovering the victims’ bodies from a nearby forest, enabling their families to conduct Islamic burial rites, while also calling for a thorough investigation and the arrest and prosecution of those responsible.
The Enugu State Police Command is yet to confirm the incident or announce any arrests, while efforts to reach the command’s spokesperson, SP Daniel Ndukwe, were unsuccessful.
