Kano gov’s aide blames Galadima for Kwankwaso’s political setbacks

The Director-General of Media and Communications to Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, has accused Engr. Buba Galadima of being responsible for the political setbacks of former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
Bature described Galadima as a “political hanger-on” who had survived by aligning himself with different presidential candidates over the years without making any meaningful political impact.
He alleged that Galadima’s association with Kwankwaso had contributed to the former governor’s declining political fortunes, claiming that the alliance had turned Kwankwaso’s political career into “a near nonentity” marked by repeated movement from one political party to another.
Bature who spoke during a radio program in Kano, further argued that Galadima had previously failed former President Muhammadu Buhari during his unsuccessful presidential bids.
According to him, Buhari only achieved electoral success after distancing himself from Galadima and forging an alliance with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a strategy he claimed ultimately led to Buhari’s victory and re-election.
He said Kwankwaso failed to learn from that experience, alleging that Galadima remained politically aligned with multiple figures, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, President Tinubu and Kwankwaso simultaneously.
Bature also questioned Galadima’s political influence, alleging that he had been unable to establish a significant political base in his hometown of Bade in Yobe State and instead relied on political patronage in Abuja.
The remarks come amid continued political realignments and exchanges between key political actors ahead of the 2027 general elections. Galadima had not publicly responded to the allegations at the time of filing this report.
